Booking and paying

How far ahead should I book?

Online bookings need at least 3 days’ notice so we can confirm the spot and prepare the styling. Weekends in spring and the lead-up to Christmas book out two to three weeks ahead. For a date within 3 days, email us and we will check.

How do I pay?

Online by card, Apple Pay or Google Pay when you book, processed by Stripe. We never see your card details. Your booking is confirmed the moment payment goes through and a receipt arrives by email.

Can I cancel or change my date?

Reschedule free of charge up to 48 hours before your picnic — just reply to your confirmation email. Cancel more than 48 hours before for a full refund less payment-processing fees. Within 48 hours, bookings can be moved but not refunded. Full policy on the terms page.

Do you take deposits?

No — you pay the full amount when you book. It keeps things simple and means your date is locked the moment you pay.

Is the price per person?

No. Prices are per set-up by guest count: 2, 3–4, 5–6, 7–10, then a small amount per extra guest. See packages.

On the day

What happens if it rains?

If rain is forecast we contact you the day before and move your picnic to the next date that suits you at no cost, or to a covered spot you nominate (a backyard, balcony or undercover area). Brisbane storms are usually short; we watch the radar so you don’t have to.

Is food included?

No. We provide the styling and equipment — table, rugs, cushions, flowers, candles, plates and glassware. You bring food and drinks, which keeps the price simple and the menu exactly what you want. Want the food done too? Add a Grazing Table for the same date.

How long do we have?

Full-service picnics run for 3 hours; add an extra hour on the booking page. DIY kits are yours for 48 hours.

Can I bring alcohol?

Many Brisbane parks allow responsible drinking but some are alcohol-free zones, especially near playgrounds. Check the signage or ask us when we confirm your spot.

What if something gets broken?

Normal wear is expected. If an item is broken or lost we invoice the replacement cost at a fair price. We do not charge a bond.

Locations

Which parks can you set up in?

Any public park or private garden in Brisbane. Favourites: New Farm Park, Kangaroo Point cliffs, City Botanic Gardens, Roma Street Parkland, Orleigh Park in West End, the lawns at Mt Coot-tha lookout, and backyards. We suggest a spot for your group size and occasion when we confirm the booking.

Do I need a council permit?

Small private picnics in Brisbane City Council parks generally do not need a permit. Larger groups, structures such as marquees, or amplified music can require one — tell us your plans and we will advise. Where a permit is needed, arranging it is the customer’s responsibility.

How far do you travel?

Set-up is free within about 10 km of Taringa and a small fee beyond that, up to about 50 km (Ipswich, Logan, Redlands, Redcliffe). Gold Coast and Sunshine Coast by quote.

Where do I collect a DIY kit?

From Taringa, QLD 4068. The exact address and a collection window are in your confirmation email. Delivery is available for a fee by zone.
